ProClim Flash 80: Eine Frage von Recht und Gerechtigkeit – die Rolle der Justiz im Klimawandel
Können Klimaklagen Klimaschutz und Klimagerechtigkeit verbessern? Ist es zielführend, Klimaschutz als Menschenrecht einzuklagen, wie das die KlimaSeniorinnen getan haben? Sollte die Natur gar eigene Rechte haben? Wie stehen Menschen, die sich aktivistisch fürs Klima einsetzen, vor dem Gericht da? Und was, wenn Klimaschutzklagen als Form des Klimaaktivismus eingereicht werden? Schliesslich: Vor welche rechtlichen Herausforderungen stellt uns die «Klimamigration»? Die 80. Ausgabe widmet sich dem Thema «Eine Frage von Recht und Gerechtigkeit: Die Rolle der Justiz im Klimawandel». Checking in with… Géraldine Pflieger
Last November, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. Amongst the official Swiss delegation was Géraldine Pflieger, representing the scientific perspective. She is a is a professor of urban and environmental policy at the University of Geneva. After the conference, we were able to have a talk with Professor Pflieger and get a scientific evaluation of what was – or was not – decided at COP29.
