The Planetary Boundaries Working Group is holding a webinar on 27 March 2025, 11-12 UTC, on the topic of how palaeoecology can help understand tipping points and safe operating spaces.

The event is hosted by Oppenheimer Generations Research and Conservation, an organization that catalyses targeted research and harnesses dialog between research and practice to create impact in African landscapes. The webinar, part of a series on Tipping Points, will be facilitated by Professor Lindsey Gillson of LCAB, University of York. It will feature talks by Dr Estelle Razanatsoa of the University of Cape Town, Professor Ke Zhang, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology (NIGLAS), China, and Associate Professor Jemma Finch, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The team will discuss how palaeoecology can be integrated into transdisciplinary approaches to conservation, management and restoration of ecosystems in Africa and beyond.
