Update of supplementary methodologies for estimating anthropogenic GHG emissions and removals from land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) activities

Call for lead authors and review editors until 10 July 2012

The UNFCCC invited the IPCC to review and, if necessary, update supplementary methodologies for estimating anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) activities under Article 3.3 and 3.4, of the Kyoto Protocol (KP), under Chapter 4 of IPCC's 2003 Good Practice Guidance for Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (GPG-LULUCF), to be completed by the end of October 2013

The IPCC invites Switzerland to nominate experts to contribute as Co-ordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors and Review Editors as well as any Expert Reviewers
Experts located in Switzerland and interested in being nominated, please contact ProClim (urs.neu@scnat.ch) as soon as possible.

Deadline for nomination submission:
10 July 2012

Author’s expertise and experience:

  • Reporting of emissions and removals for the Kyoto Protocol, particularly under articles 3.3 and 3.4 of the Kyoto Protocol;
  • Preparation of national greenhouse gas inventories; and
  • Scientific and technical understanding of emissions and removals of greenhouse gases in the LULUCF/AFOLU sector, wetlands and harvested wood products.


Time frame:
First author meeting will be held in September 2012
Report should be completed by end of October 2013

Procedure:
Persons interested to be nominated, shall fill out a registration form, where supporting information on the relevant expertise has to be provided and confirmed through a statement of self-declaration.

Persons with corresponding expertise will be officially nominated by the Swiss Government. Selected authors will be informed as soon as possible.
