The Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) is an international programme, founded to coordinate climate observation globally and thereby to provide users with the data and information needed to address climate-related concerns. In Switzerland, GCOS is implemented by a variety of national partner institutions coordinated by the Swiss GCOS Office at MeteoSwiss.

In this context, MeteoSwiss provides targeted support to projects that contribute to the GCOS Implementation Plan and the GCOS Switzerland Strategy 2017-2026.

MeteoSwiss has now issued its fourth call for proposals addressing the following priorities of the GCOS Switzerland Strategy 2017-2026:

National collaboration and synthesis:Enhance national collaboration leading to an improved synthesis of Swiss GCOS data at national level; make better use of existing infrastructure and identify new partner institutions (Strategic Priority 2.1);
Data analysis and data archives:Ensure that standardized observations including traceable and transparent metadata of all ECVs are archived, made freely available to all interested users and supported (Strategic Priority 1.5 and 1.6 combined).

Submission deadline:1 February 2021at 16:00h (CET)
