24th Annual IEA-IETA-EPRI Workshop on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading
The 24th annual workshop organised by the International Energy Agency (IEA), International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) will take place in four hybrid sessions (in-person and virtual participation possible) distributed among 1, 2 and 3 October 2024. The event will be hosted at the IEA (9, rue de la Federation, Paris).
Always a widely-anticipated date in the global carbon trading calendar, this invitation-only workshop brings together over one hundred senior government officials, corporate executives, and researchers from non-governmental organisations and academia, to discuss the latest updates and prospects for GHG emissions trading around the world. The workshop combines presentations based on recent research with interactive discussions, held under the Chatham House Rule.
Over the course of three days, expert speakers will address topics including:
- The role of carbon markets in ensuring an affordable clean energy transition;
- Supply and demand challenges and opportunities for carbon credits from clean cooking activities;
- The role of carbon credits in corporate decarbonisation strategies;
- Transition carbon credits for early coal phase-out and carbon credits for development goals.
